‘Pudendum’ brought together three third year artist students from the Arts University College Bournemouth to consider notions of gender and body through works of sculpture and video.
Featuring work by Fred Nicholas, Harri Thomas and Pip Norton.
‘Each artist’s work explores the body, it’s physical form and cultural connotations. Although the individual artist’s practice are distinctive in their focus and approaches to making, a shared interest has emerged in recent works. ‘Pudendum’ is made up of new pieces that represent these artists growing interest in our relationship to ideas of gender, identity and the physicality of the human body.
Through the collaborative challenge of this show; the artists hope to begin to create a platform to discuss their work within the context of the white cube, in an effort to better understand the interaction between artworks, modes of display and the audience.’
