Welcome everyone to OUR BlOG… come and get involved!

hello friends,

Talking bout our generation!

I’ve started writing some reviews which I will post soon. I am amazed by all the excellent work I have seen at the degree shows and want to spread my enjoyment.

You can find everything you need to know in the about section

but for a bit more of the idea, here’s my thinking…

’We’ll make our own success, we’ll set our own criteria and we will realise our own ambitions’

Blog Idea:

A space for us and our artists friends to review other artists, artworks and exhibitions. A place for us go to find out what is out there to see and what our group thinks of it.

How it would work:

Artists write a review, post photos and videos of artworks and artist they have been looking at and thinking about. We post as much content as we want, be as articulate as we can. We can be blunt, practical and to the point. We should let our excitement be known. We can write in our style, our own voices and not worry too much about sounding academic enough or coming across as pretentious. We can assign our own importance to the things that captivate us. We can make it a blog full of photos and video and useful links to other sites. We could encourage responses and rebuttals to our critiques. It will allow groups to form and close connections to remain even though artists maybe located far apart.

Practicality: People can either send in articles and photos to be posted or become a contributor as author on this blog space.

The only rule is that no artist can review their own work or a show you have curated. However we should invite and persuade other artists and friends to post reviews about all our shows and latest works.

Hope:

The hope is to make a truly useful and fluid blog space which is produced by a growing group of passionate creative people who like to talk about art. It could become a great source of information and inspiration. Its aim would be to attract readers who are interest in what young contemporary artist are doing in the UK and beyond. I believe it could act as a linking point to a web of artist connections, shows and online sites.

We should do this because its our turn to become successful.
